First day of CodeCivics Training complete!
We kicked off our journey with youth workers from Spain, Germany, North Macedonia, Greece, and Cyprus 
, all here to explore how coding and computational thinking can be taught in fun, non-formal ways — even for total beginners. 
Thematic 1: “All is Algorithms” set the foundation:
Ice-breaking games to spark connections
Playful examples of algorithms as everyday instructions
A campus tour + scavenger hunt to bring teamwork to life
Hands-on flowchart activities that turned problem-solving into fun challenges
A fantastic start full of energy, collaboration, and creativity — proving that coding can be for everyone!

During March 23rd -24th, 2026, the third TPM meeting of the consortium for the ERUDiTE project took place. The meeting was held in Germany at the TIME – Tübingen Institute for Medical Education in Tübingen.
The partners had the opportunity to discuss various issues related to the project and see the progress made on the work packages.
Emphasis was placed on WP3- Empathy Web Platform, which was in a final completion review, as well as on the next package, WP4- the Empathy Curriculum. Issues related to dissemination, the project budget, and project management were also discussed.
Ovidiu Popa-Velea and Raluca Gheorghe represented CDUMP, Magdalena Lazarewicz and Dorota Wtodarzyk from WUM, Anne Herrmann-Werner, Sophia Adam and Eva Eitler-Roosz from TU, and Christos Mettouris and Marios Kyprianou from UCY.

On the 30th of March 2026 we successfully hosted a workshop, in the Multiplier Event context of our Erasmus+ project CodeCivics, at our premises at UCY Library in Nicosia, Cyprus. The workshop was titled “Coding for Social Good”. During the workshop, young, motivated individuals and youth workers with little coding experience joined us for a series of short presentations about web technologies. They then formed teams and brainstormed about ideas that could help local societal causes. The winning team had the idea to create a basic website for a local dog shelter, featuring dog profiles and information as well as contacts, how to help section and what to do in case they found a stray dog.
We were delighted and fulfilled to see young people motivated to use coding for the societal good, some of them having only programmed for the first time.

In March 2026, the consortium of our Erasmus+ project CodeCivics met once again. This time we were hosted by our partner TABANA NGO in the charming town of Bad Neustadt an der Saale, in Bavaria, Germany. During this meeting all past activities, mobility events, deliverables and dissemination activities were discussed and reflected upon. The project was slowly being wrapped and the final report prepared. This was the final physical meeting of a very active and eventful project for all of us. We thank the coordinator, the hosts, and all partners and participants of this project, and we are looking forward to new collaborations with them.

On Saturday, 28 February, an IT Workshop took place at the University of Cyprus, where members of our Lab had the opportunity to present the EDU-MENT project to participants.
During the session, attendees were introduced to the objectives of the project and learned more about the role of the University of Cyprus within the partnership.
It was a great opportunity to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and raise awareness about the EDU-MENT initiative.

In January 2026, a team of 5 bright young people were selected, and alongside a team leader from our organization travelled to Wurzburg, Bavaria, Germany to participate in a 5 day long Youth Exchange, with 25 like minded people from Greece, Germany, Spain and North Macedonia.
The event was organized by our partner TABANA NGO and the participants were hosted in DJH Youth Hostel in Wurzburg.
The aim of the event was to bring young from across Europe together and explore how digital skills can drive positive change in their communities. Through fun, interactive and hands-on activities, delivered by very experienced trainers from our partners InfoFront in North Macedonia, participants dove into the world of coding, programming and creative problem solving, and learned how technology can be used to tackle real community challenges.
The event was highly successful with every single participants reporting strong understanding or the taught concepts and mentioning they formed strong connections with their peers.
From “What’s your name” to hard goodbyes. From “Where are you from” to “siblings across the continent” This is Erasmus+. Opening minds, enriching lives.

In Ibi, the results of the mobility activities were checked, the progress of the online MOOC was also explained and discussed and we finalized the details and logistics of the upcoming Youth Exchange in Germany. The partners were also invited to join the podcast of the host organization BlueBeeHive.
