GREEN STEAM Project team organized and conducted the 1st Transnational Project Meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria. The partners discussed the implementation of the project and planned in detail the elaboration work on the Flipped training course and Toolkit & Flipped learning labs.

The project aims to make green transition skills and entrepreneurial spirit mainstream among female HE students in the STEAM field. The Green Steam project will develop innovative Flipped Training Courses, Hackathon, Open Learning Platform through which to equip female students in STEAM with entrepreneurial and green skills for the future through a flipped learning and design thinking approach.

The Green Steam project will develop an innovative flipped training courses and flipped learning labs for developing the following skills – digital, green, entrepreneurship, and social. It will be piloted with 250 students in the 5 partner countries. The impact analysis will be presented across key stakeholders to promote the Greеn Steam’s Open learning platform widely across the education system. The consortium will hold Hackathons in the partner countries.

The partnership includes 6 organizations from 5 countries. The team is lead by Химикотехнологичен и металургичен университет – София /ХТМУ/ from Bulgaria and combines the expertise of the partner organizations: Mindshift from Portugal, Business Foundation for Education/Фондация на бизнеса за образованието from Bulgaria, Akademia Humanistyczno-Ekonomiczna w Łodzi from Poland, Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου | University Of Cyprus from Cyprus and UnitelmaSapienza from Italy.

Today, the SEIT Lab had the pleasure of hosting 33 bright minds from Lykeio Idaliou as part of the EPSILON Erasmus+ project. 🎓🖥️

3️⃣ Then, we embarked on a captivating tour of our university grounds, marveling at the stunning library and soaking in the rich academic atmosphere. 📚

4️⃣ Finally, we dove headfirst into the heart of our mission with the EPSILON project, immersing the students in the realm of Data Science for Good. They got hands-on experience with our innovative tools, providing valuable feedback and insights. 💻

On February 24th, our campus buzzed with energy as education students immersed themselves in the fascinating world of Computer Science! 🎓💻

🏫 University Exploration: Around 100-120 students explored the state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Cyprus, getting a glimpse of the incredible learning environment that awaits them if they choose to pursue Computer Science here. 🌐🔍

🤖 SEIT Lab Showcase: Our SEIT Lab proudly presented the cutting-edge work we do in the field of technology and innovation. 💡🔬 Students had the opportunity to see firsthand the exciting projects and research happening within our lab.

This past 15th of February was a remarkable day for us at the Software Engineering and Internet Technologies (SEIT) Laboratory, as we had the privilege to welcome a distinguished delegation from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, to the University of Cyprus.

Our lab was buzzing with excitement, and we were thrilled to showcase the culmination of our hard work over the past years. The visit was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our commitment and contributions to various EU projects throughout the years, and to share the innovative work we are currently engaged in.

We took pride in presenting three of our platforms, all of which have been supported under the EU funding schemes, namely:

BEEIN Erasmus Plus Project – A space where beekeepers can find training on important matters for bee-keeping, and other helpful material.

Rethink / React Erasmus Plus Project – An initiative designed to enhance inclusion among students through the improvement of their soft skills. Re-Think/Re-Act

Girls Team Up! Erasmus Plus Project – A project dedicated to empowering young girls in sports through teamwork and technology. Girls Team Up
