Three conferences will be organised – one in each country where implementation took place (Austria, Cyprus, Italy). These events aim at a mixed audience of students and academics in the field of urban studies, practitioners in the field of architecture and urban design, as well as local authorities and policy makers in charge of urban planning and design and local communities.
Conference 1 – Developing an open learning curriculum for the teaching of urban form
This event will focus on disseminating the content of the OLC and the OER developed to support the curriculum. It will inform participants about the needs assessment and the rationale for developing the OLC, the process of curriculum development and of setting learning objectives and learning tasks. It will also present the array of OER developed for the project and highlight the need for the multidisciplinary nature of the OLC. This event is envisaged as a conference and will also include a national dissemination seminar or workshop (covering O1-O4) targeting stakeholders and target group members.
Conference 2 – Digital capacities for the teaching of urban form
This event will focus on presenting the OER, the digital platform and OTTs in detail: how and why they were created, the array of OER available as teaching resources and how they can be embedded within existing curricula. It will present the OTTs, their content and use, and how they can be embedded within existing media. It will present how the digital platform and its add-on tools were used during the project and how they can be embedded as a teaching tool within existing curricula. This event is envisaged as a conference and will also include a national dissemination seminar or workshop (covering O1-O4) targeting stakeholders and target group members.
Conference 3 – Implementing and evaluating multidisciplinary approaches to the teaching of urban form
This event will critically reflect on the project’s outcomes in relation to a multidisciplinary approach to urban form studies facilitated by blended learning environments. It will highlight the direct and indirect benefits for all stakeholders (learners, teachers, practitioners, policy makers and local societies) and emphasize the potential for a long-term exploitation of the project’s outputs. This event is envisaged as a conference and will also include a national dissemination seminar or workshop (covering O1-O4) targeting stakeholders and target group members.
