"WWW: Technical Foundations of the World-Wide Web," Erik Wilde, Springer: A comprehensive text I have found to cover many topics of interest for a course on WWW. The treaty is not very extensive, but it provides a good start before searching on the Web.
"Internet & WWW - How to Program," Deitel, Deitel & Nieto, Prentice Hall
"Web Server Technology", N. Yeager & R. McGrath, Morgan Kaufmann : Very good book, although a bit outdated.
"Multimedia & Hypertext: The Internet & Beyond", J. Nielsen, Academic Press : An introductory book, covering some basic material on usability issues of hypermedia applications.
The World-Wide Web Consortium and the International WWW Conferences: Through their Web-pages you can find enormous and up-to-date information about all aspects of the WWW.
Course Web-pages from other Universities provide very useful material, such as papers, presentations, links to textbooks. In particular, I suggest you take a look at:
Dan Weld's CSE 490i - Advanced Internet Systems, at the University of Washington, in Seattle. Dan has generously put a lot of his notes on the Web, and we will cover some of the material he has covered.
