Objectives

This course examines the underpinnings of Internet systems and services. It focuses on the basic principles that govern the design, development, and deployment of scalable Internet systems and services. The course also examines selected topics from the recent research literature. Topics include:

Course-work

This is an intensive graduate course. Students are expected to follow and participate in lectures and undertake weekly and semester projects. There will be a final exam.

Prerequisites

Students are expected to have a good grasp of basic computer networking, TCP/IP, and Web principles.  They should be prepared to learn and use different languages and tools within a short period of time.
