The UA Talent UP Erasmus+ project has announced a Call for Chapters for an upcoming Open Access edited volume titled:

“The Skills of the Future: Developing Creativity and Entrepreneurial Capacities in a Global World.”

This publication aims to bring together academic research, practical experiences, and methodological contributions focused on enhancing creativity, entrepreneurship, and global competences in higher education, with particular attention to the Ukrainian context and international cooperation.

Objectives of the Publication

The volume seeks to:

• Support the development of EntreComp and Global Competence frameworks
• Highlight innovative educational practices and methodologies
• Strengthen capacity building and resilience in higher education institutions
• Address emerging challenges, including the role of Artificial Intelligence in education

Thematic Areas

Contributions will be addressing topics such as:

• Entrepreneurship and competence-based education
• Creativity and innovation in higher education
• MOOCs, micro-credentials, and gamified learning
• Digital pedagogies and inclusive education
• Institutional transformation and international cooperation
• AI applications in education and skills development

Important Dates

• 15 May 2026 – Deadline for abstract submission
• 1 June 2026 – Notification of acceptance
• 30 September 2026 – Full chapter submission
• Spring 2027 – Publication of the Open Access book

The end of the year marks an important milestone in our journey towards strengthening innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and global competences in higher education.

Since its official launch, the project has successfully established a solid foundation through the implementation of key activities across its work packages. Early efforts focused on project management, coordination, and dissemination, ensuring effective collaboration among all consortium partners and setting the basis for high-quality results.

One of the major achievements so far has been the progress in training activities for educators, where participants have been introduced to innovative teaching methodologies combining entrepreneurship, creativity, and global competences. These activities are designed to empower teachers to integrate modern, student-centred approaches into their curricula, ultimately benefiting learners across disciplines.

Another significant highlight is the development of the Global Competence Framework, as well as the release of the first project policy report, which provides strategic recommendations for advancing global competences within the European context.

In addition, UA Talent UP has made important steps towards the establishment of Creativity Hubs within partner institutions. These hubs will serve as dynamic spaces for collaboration, experimentation, and training, supporting both educators and students in developing key competences for the future.

Partner meetings, whether face to face or virtual, also provided multiple opportunities to reflect on progress, exchange experiences, and plan the next phases of implementation, reinforcing the strong cooperation between project partners.

Looking ahead, 2026 will focus on:

• launching pilot training activities for students and the general public
• further development of gamified MOOCs and digital learning tools
• implementation of competence assessment methods and micro-credentials

UA Talent UP has so far demonstrated a clear commitment to fostering inclusive, innovative, and future-oriented education systems. Current achievements lay a strong foundation for the next stages of the project and for the long-term impact of its results.

As part of the ongoing implementation of the UA Talent UP Erasmus+ project, significant progress has been made in the development of global competences, a key pillar of the project’s vision for modern higher education.

In today’s interconnected world, higher education institutions play a crucial role in preparing learners not only with academic knowledge, but also with the skills needed to navigate global challenges and opportunities. These include intercultural communication, adaptability, collaboration, and a broader understanding of international contexts.

Within this framework, UA Talent UP is actively contributing to the creation of a Global Competence Framework, designed to complement existing European tools such as the EntreComp and digital competence frameworks. This work reflects the project’s commitment to aligning higher education practices with European standards while also addressing the specific needs of Ukrainian institutions.

The development process involves close collaboration between European and Ukrainian partners, combining academic expertise, practical experience, and innovative methodologies. Special focus is placed on:

• integrating global competences into teaching practices
• supporting internationalisation “at home” for students who may not have mobility opportunities
• fostering inclusive and accessible learning environments

In parallel, training activities for educators continue to strengthen their capacity to apply these concepts in their classrooms. By equipping teachers with modern pedagogical approaches, including gamification and collaborative learning, the project ensures that global competences are not only theoretical but also effectively embedded in daily teaching practice.

Ultimately, the work carried out at this stage contributes to a broader objective:
to prepare students and citizens for participation in a global economy, supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

As UA Talent UP progresses, the Global Competence Framework will serve as a foundation for future training programmes, MOOCs, and capacity-building activities, ensuring long-term impact beyond the duration of the project.
