  • FailRank: a novel framework for integrating and ranking information sources that characterize failures in a grid system. FailRank supports a wide array of failure extrapolation tasks by utilizing well established data exploratory analysis tools and state-of-the-art top-k query processing techniques.
  • icGRID (Intensive Care Grid): a platform that enables the seamless integration the physical parameters acquired at Intensive Care Units (ICUs) of hospitals scattered around Europe. Our group implemented the UDP-based API of the Philips IntelliVue MP60, one of the most technologically advanced monitors on the market.

 Collaborators: Dr. Michail Vlachos (T.J. Watson - Hawthorne/NY), Dr. Zografoula Vagena (Almaden - San Jose/CA).

  • Distributed Top-K Query Processing: Worked on various distributed top-k query processing algorithms (design and experimental evaluation) that have applications in sensor and peer-to-peer networks. Our algorithms were implemented and tested on a real network of 75 workstations.

 Mentors: Prof. Neal E. Young (UCR/Akamai) and Dr. Arthur W. Berger (Akamai/MIT).
Group: Network Intelligence Lab

  • Internet Tomography: Developed scalable techniques to index the network measurements that are continuously gathered by Akamai's Internet Mapper Infrastructure. I also developed ip2ip, which is a command-line tool that provides end-to-end latency estimates based on the collected and indexed measurements.
