Real-time Computer Graphics

Real-time Computer Graphics

Y. Chrysanthou

The main emphasis of this research is on the development of algorithms for real-time rendering and their application to time critical systems such as Virtual and Augmented Reality. Some of the issues that need to be considered are how to maintain a constant, high frame-rate as the geometric models increase in complexity, how to make them look more realistic by adding appropriate illumination and shadows and how to simulate behavior where needed. More specifically, some of the topics that are currently being investigated are: visibility processing, rendering of crowded urban environments, clothe simulation and crowd behavior modeling of urban environments and illumination in augmented reality.

This work is funded by a number of European and local research projects.
