Besides Colloquiums, the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cyprus also holds Other Presentations (Research Seminars, PhD Defenses, Short Term Courses, Demonstrations, etc.). These presentations are given by scientists who aim to present preliminary results of their research work and/or other technical material. Abstract:
Bloomberg is a technology company whose main product is the Bloomberg Terminal: The Bloomberg Terminal is a software that delivers a diverse array of information, news and analytics to facilitate financial decision-making. Therefore, data is at the very heart of what Bloomberg does and Artificial Intelligence has become a central to its mission. In this presentation I will go over the AI Group's areas of work dive into some of the technologies, problems and solutions that the team I am part of, AI News, is focusing on.

Short Bio:
Dr. Kyriakos Karenos is a Senior Software Engineer at Bloomberg LP. Previously, he worked at Microsoft Bing and the IBM TJ Watson Research Center. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in June of 2008 at the University of California, Riverside. He completed his BSc in Computer Science at the University of Cyprus and received his MSc degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, at the University of California, Riverside in 2005.
