  Getting to Cyprus

......................................................................................................................................

Cyprus is easily accessible from all European and International cities with many daily connections available.

Formalities for Entering Cyprus:A valid passport is required by all entering Cyprus for a period of less than 3 months, except EU nationals who may also enter Cyprus with a valid ID Card. Visas are not required for EU, USA, Australia and Canada passport holders. Other nationals should check with their local Cyprus embassy or here.

Airports:
Visitors arriving by air may enter the Republic through the International Airports of  Larnaca  and Paphos.

  •  Larnaca  International Airport:  The airport is approximately 125 km from the venue site.

  • Paphos International Airport:      The airport is approximately 12 km from the venue site.

Ports:
Passenger and cruise traffic in Cyprus is served by the multipurpose ports of Lemesos and  Larnaca  on the south coast of the county.

  • Lemesos (Limassol) &  Larnaca  Port:   The largest port facility on the island is situated in the western part of Lemesos town while a smaller port is situated in  Larnaca  in the East. Ferries connect Lemesos port with Greece, Israel, Egypt, Lebanon and close proximities of the eastern Mediterranean block. The port also serves as a base and stop-over for a large number of cruise ships conducting cruises in the region on a regular and frequent basis.

Travelling In Cyprus:

  • Motorways: Entering the European Union has given Cyprus the incentive and improved communications within the country, thus benefiting the general improvement of the country's infrastructure. Motorways connect the whole island and enable the smooth and easy communication between towns. Visitors in Cyprus can drive using a valid International driving licence, or their National driving licence, provided it is valid for the class of vehicle they wish to drive.

  • Bus Service Facilities:  Various interurban bus companies link all major towns with daily routes at specified intervals. Urban Buses operate frequently during daytime and in certain tourist areas while during summer their timetables are extended till midnight. Bus shuttles are organised from Congress venues to other resorts and centres of towns.

  • Taxi Service Facilities: Shared Taxi service offers the opportunity to share a taxi with 4-8 other passengers. It provides connection between all major towns of Cyprus every half hour. Taxis operate on Monday to Friday from 06.00-18.00 and Sundays from 06.00-17.00. Seats can be booked by phone and passengers can be collected from and dropped to, at any place they wish, within the municipal boundaries.
Urban taxi services are a 24 hours service provided in all towns. Taxis can be booked by phone or be hired from the street. Urban taxis are provided with taximeters and charging commences upon the entrance of a passenger in the taxi.
Using taxi facilities is ultimately safe and a trustworthy, reasonably charged mean to get around.
