HIGH FIDELITY IMAGES FOR A VIRTUAL REALITY SYSTEM WITH APPLICATION TO MILITARY TRAINING

logo

Project Information

Conventional Virtual Reality (VR system) has being used to implement simulators in military applications, i.e. train soldiers, but until now has been not possible to achieve a high level of reproduced realism for the all components that are part of the simulator i.e. illumination conditions, explosion, fire, battle field etc. The feeling and the look of these components is still far from what we can call realism. Therefore, the realism reproduced plays a key role in the training process of the soldiers, reproducing almost the same adverse conditions, in term of realism (looking and feeling), that can be part of a battle field.
