The project is a standard and interoperable satellite solution to deploy Health care services over wide areas. The project was founded in an attempt to achieve platforms interoperability for large scale deployment of e-health services, to allow medical network leaders to develop e-health satellite based services, to perform pilot validation for fine tuning of the services, and to identify obstacles, delivery chain's actors, decision makers and authorities, legal and ethical aspects to deal with to achieve sustainable services. The project will favor 3 themes (Chronic respiratory diseases, Cardiology, Oncology) in 4 preferential applicative domains (Services at home, Medical training, Second Opinion and Teleconsultation).

Καλωσορίσατε στο Τμήμα Πληροφορικής του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Τα τελευταία χρόνια το Τμήμα έχει παρουσιάσει σημαντική ανάπτυξη με ισχυρές ομάδες δικτύων υπολογιστών, αρχιτεκτονικής υπολογιστών, αλγορίθμων, βάσεων δεδομένων, εξόρυξης δεδομένων, κατανεμημένης επεξεργασίας, τεχνητής νοημοσύνης, τεχνολογίας λογισμικού, διαδικτυακού υπολογισμού και γραφικών. Το Τμήμα Πληροφορικής προσφέρει Προπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών που οδηγεί στην απόκτηση Πτυχίου Πληροφορικής με 7 διαφορετικές εξειδικεύσεις, ένα αριθμό Μεταπτυχιακών Προγραμμάτων Σπουδών που οδηγούν σε τίτλους Μάστερ καθώς και σπουδές επιπέδου Διδακτορικού στην Πληροφορική.

Το Τμήμα έχει ισχυρές ερευνητικές υποδομές αποτελούμενες από υψηλής απόδοσης συστοιχίες, δίκτυα αποθήκευσης, υπολογιστικές νεφέλες, έξυπνα τηλέφωνα και αισθητήρες, καθώς επίσης και εξοπλισμό εικονικής πραγματικότητας. Από το 2005, το Τμήμα Πληροφορικής έχει συμμετάσχει σε περισσότερα από 160 ερευνητικά έργα που χρηματοδοτούνται τόσο από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση όσο και από το Ίδρυμα Προώθησης Έρευνας της Κύπρου, με συνολική χρηματοδότηση πάνω από 21.5 εκατ. ευρώ.
