Entity linkage is central to almost every data integration and data cleaning scenario. Traditional techniques use some computed similarity among data structure to perform merges and then answer queries on the merged data. The presentation will introduce a mechanism for entity linkage with uncertainty. Instead of performing the merges based on the linkages, it stores the entity linkages alongside the data and performs only the required merges at run-time, by effectively taking into consideration the query specifications.

Short Bio:
Ekaterini Ioannou obtained a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. from University of Cyprus, an M.Sc. from Saarland University and the Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik, and a Ph.D. from the Leibniz Universität Hannover and the L3S Research Center in Hannover, Germany. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Crete, working on entity linkage for heterogeneous data with uncertainties and management of uncertain data using statistical models.
