Short Biography

Nicholas Loulloudes was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus (2015), an M.Sc. in Communications Networks and Software from the University of Surrey (2006) and a BSc in Computer Science from Intercollege (Cum Laude, 2005).

His Ph.D. thesis "Distributed Traffic Information Systems Based on V2X Communication in Large-Scale Urban Environments" was completed under the supervision of Professor Marios D. Dikaiakos. Nicholas main reasearch interest evove around the areas of Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANET), Intelligent Transportation, Complex Networks, Cloud Computing and Online Social Networks.

Since December 2006, Nicholas is working with the Laboratory for Internet Computing (former HPCL) as a research scientist, where among other he participated in the development of the g-Eclipse framework and also in the Testing and Certification support activity of the EGEE III project. During August 2010 - January 2011, he was on an research internship in Intelligent Transportations Systems with Siemens Corporate Research, Princeton, NJ, USA. On January 2011, Nicholas was awarded a 2-year research grant for New Researchers (PENEK) by the Cyprus Reseach Promotion Foundation, in the context of which, the V-Sense - A Vehicular Sensor Network Infrastructure project was realized.

In February 2013, Nicholas joined the CELAR FP7 EU project performing research in the area of Automatic, Multi-Grained, elasticity-provisioning for the Cloud. From October 2014, he is the project-lead of the Cloud Application Management Framework (CAMF) technology project under the Eclipse Foundation.
