SHORT CV:

Undergraduate and Graduate studies at the department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) Greece (Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering 1996, Ph.D. 2000). From 1996 to 2000 he was a research postgraduate student at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems - NTUA, working in the area of telemedicine, medical imaging and medical informatics. Form 2000 to 2001 he had been working with the Athens Medical Center Group in Athens Greece, in the fields of telemedicine and medical databases. From November 2001 until August 2006 he had been working with the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, as a Research Scientist, in the fields of medical image processing and medical informatics. From September 2002 until December 2006 he had been working as a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus, with which is still a reasearch collaborator. From January 2007 until December 2007 he had been working as an Assistant professor with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Frederick Institute of Technology. Since December 2007 he has been appointed the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Frederick University Cyprus. He has published several journal and conference papers in the fields of telemedicine, medical imaging and medical informatics. He is an associate editor of IEEE transaction on Information Technology in Biomedicine, while he is an active reviewer of many other scientific journals. He is a member of IEEE EMB and Computer Societies, the Hellenic society of Biomedical Engineering and the Cyprus Society of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering. His research interests focus on Telematics, image processing, neural networks and their applications in medicine.
