The Shaping, Enhancing and Nurturing STEM in Europe Project is a result of a two years´ cooperation of a partnership of Regional Authorities governing education (including VET) on the regional level – Zlínský kraj in the Czech Rep., VET providers – GRETB in Ireland, UTC in Italy, two enterprises with strong cooperation with companies – Trexima in the Czech Rep. and SES13-19 Ltd. in the UK, CPIP – a centre for teachers training and supporting young people in Romania, and the University of Cyprus (SEIT Lab) bringing a great experience in the area of applying ICT tools to engage young people in STEM.

We have worked in the area of promoting STEM careers among young people in a modern and attractive way for two years. Our key topics were:

  • could volunteers from a STEM related jobs and disciplines help bring a new and inspiring perspective to STEM lessons and career opportunities?
  • could a contest based approach and use of modern technologies attract young people´s attention to STEM learning?
  • could teachers identify and support young talents in STEM effectively?
  • could Authorities, decision makers and other stakeholders contribute to STEM learning attraction?
