A Micronet Gigabit copper switch connects the nodes, while the cluster is connected with GÉANT via an ATM switch at the Network centre of University of Cyprus, at 155Mbps.

EGEE

The High Performance Computing systems Lab participates in the EGEE project. Connectivity is provided through Géant and the Cyprus Research and Educational Network (CYNET).

PlanetLab
PlanetLab@UCY is hosting 2 PlanetLab nodes.
Two SuperMicro Servers (SuperServer 6022P-I) support the global PlanetLab infrastructure. Each SuperMicro has:
  • 2.4 GHz Pentium4
  • 2GByte Maximum RAM
  • 80+160 GByte total disk space
  • Fast Ethernet interface
The two nodes connects to a network addressable power controller unit (PCU). The PCU can power cycle nodes from a remote location when the need arises.
