Operations (SA1)

SA1 Objectives

The European Grid Support, Operation and Management activity will create, operate, support and manage a production quality European grid infrastructure which will provide computing, storage, instrumentation and informational resources at many resource centres (RCs) across Europe.

The resources will be accessible to user communities and virtual organisations according to agreed access management policies and service level agreements. The terms of engagement of the resource centres and users will be driven by policies determined by the European einfrastructure reflection group. How to participate in EGEE

Applications and Users

EGEE welcomes new participants - either as an application user or as a contributing computing resource.

For the moment, prospective users of the EGEE grid services are expected to be members of an application community.  These activities are coordinated within the project by the NA4 (applications and industry forum) activity.  New applications communities are invited to make contact with the NA4 group as a first step.

Users that wish to benefit from running their applications on the EGEE grid infrastructure are welcome from any discipline; it could be Scientific, Educational or Industrial. Organisations are also encouraged to join as Resource Centres, expanding the CyGrid infrastructure by contributing computing resources and support services. Use the instructions for new users.

Resource Centre

For participating in EGEE as a Resource Centre (located in Cyprus), please review the information and the requirements as presented at the CyGrid website.

There are some minimum requirements expected of a site, and some operational policies that must be agreed to.
