The
Cyprus Entrepreneurship Competition (CyCE) - http://www.cyec.cs.ucy.ac.cy
- is organised by the University of Cyprus. The CyEC
was first announced at the 8th Panhellenic Conference
on Informatics that took place in Nicosia in November
2001, during the program of the "Workshop on Start-ups,
Incubators and Venture Capital".
The objective of CyEC 2004/5 is to promote
Entrepreneurship in High Tech in Cyprus.
- Participation in the competition
is open to all with a
High Tech Start Up project / proposal / idea
- Existing companies and
/ or professionals that prepare
/ produce business plans are not eligible
- Competitors will be required
to submit their idea for a
high tech start-up, to be evaluated by a committee
of
experienced entrepreneurs, academicians and investors
Participants need not have
prior experience in founding start-ups; the competition
will allow the participants to develop their business
plans in 3 incremental stages, with guidance and feedback.
It is expected that this 3-stage iteration will enhance
the learning experience of the participants.
Each participant
will be exposed to the fundamentals of high
tech entrepreneurship, such us:
- Identifying business opportunities
- Writing an executive summary
and a business plan
- Presenting the project
to potential investors
The tentative timetable of the competition

| Submission of Business Plans (Stage 2) | 30-May-2005 | |
