Colloquiums Other Presentations

Information for Scheduling a Colloquium

To schedule a colloquium please send the following information to the Colloquium Coordinator (colloquium@cs.ucy.ac.cy) at least one week before the preferred presentation date.  All information must be in English:
 

a) Name of Presenter
b) Affiliation of Presenter
c) Preferred Date (preferably Wednesday)
d) Preferred Time (preferably afternoon after 15:00)
e) Title of Talk
f) Abstract (max 300 words)
g) Short Bio (max 150 words)
h) URL of Presenter (Personal Website or Other Site)
i) Picture in JPG or other standard format (only required for the CS-Colloquium series).

The announcement will go out to a variety of institutial and other lists at the time the event is scheduled, 1 week in advance and 1 day in advance.

Thank's to a generous donation from Microsoft, each colloquium will feature refreshments, coffee and some light snacks (cookies, etc.).

Other Information

The Department of Computer Science organizes the following two events:
 
A) CS Colloquium Series:  This is the official Colloquium Series held by the department. Notifications about new and upcoming events are automatically disseminated to a variety of institutional lists and other universities through the Website, RSS and a dedicated mailing list.

B) CS Other Presentations:  Besides Colloquiums, our department also holds other presentations (i.e., PhD Defenses, Demonstrations, Educational Seminars, etc.). These presentations are given by non-PhD holders who aim to present preliminary results of their research work and/or other technical material. Other Presentations serve as a forum for educating Computer Science students and researchers and related announcements are disseminated to the Department of Computer Science (i.e., the csall list) an RSS feed and through the website.
